An animal on your plate?
Meat, or no meat on your plate? That choice is not always easy to make. Health considerations, cultural and religious traditions, and concerns about the climate, often force us to choose to eat less meat, or none at all.
On the route we will follow through Leuven city center, you will explore how meat production and consumption has evolved over time; from cattle markets, slaughterhouses and butcher shops to the kitchen and the plate - at home or in a restaurant. Vegetarianism also has its own history, with numerous traces within the city center.
