Literary walk in Maarkedal

In Maarkedal, the beautiful Z+walk meanders along slow roads, between fields, with magnificent views and blissful spots in the Flemish Ardennes. The route was equipped with 5 benches, designed by designers and realized by local makers.

EVA (Erfgoed Vlaamse Ardennen) selected for each bench three literary fragments that have a strong link with this region. They are poems that articulate the landscape (Theunissen, De Bock...), fragments from novels that turn back time (Streuvels, Timmermans), or philosophical and historical musings (Libbrecht, Vancaeneghem, Wattez).

This hiking trail consists of 2 loops, good for 7.5 and 4.5 km of walking. On each bench, you can open a literary triptych via the FARO app.
