Madness disrupts, throws us off balance, and robs us of our footing. It takes us to the edge of normality. But where does normality end and chaos begin? And who decides where that line is drawn?

On Shaky Ground, the new collection presentation, tells the story of fools, madmen, and the insane, but also emphasizes the importance of mental well-being in an increasingly complex society. Through five themes, it dissects β€œthat other,” which both disturbs and fascinates us. For a long time, β€œabnormal” behavior was confined to imposing institutions, but today mental health care extends far beyond those walls. The exhibition also highlights the evolution and influence of power dynamics in psychiatry and attempts to make sense of the many labels that serve as both help and hindrance. It challenges the dichotomy between body and mind and shows how imagination brings insight and makes the unspeakable visible. On Loose Screws blends unique pieces with small anecdotes, grand theories with hidden testimonies. Objects, books, and art come and go
