Past and present walk in Oudenaarde

Past and present walk in Oudenaarde

Almost 300 years ago, engineer Nicolas de Nézot made a detailed model of the city of Oudenaarde and its ramparts. The client was the French king Louis XV, who saw in it useful tools for the movements of his occupying troops. Today, the model is kept at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille. It is a unique time document to illustrate the evolution of the city.
During this quest, we will search for remnants of the city's rich past. You can zoom in on the picture of the model each time on the last slide.
