# STROOM - Walking to the railroad history of Erpe-Mere
No less than three railroad lines cross rural Erpe-Mere. In 1868, the municipality was connected by rail for the first time. On line 89 (Denderleeuw-Kortrijk), Burst received a stop with its own station building. In 1876, line 82 to Aalst was opened, better known today as the school train, and from 1923, line 50A (Denderleeuw - Ghent) crossed the territory of Erpe-Mere.
