FARO is the support center for the professional cultural heritage sector. Over the past ten years, FARO has developedthe ErfgoedApp. This successful product contains stories and tours on location, created by a broad community of creators, such as heritage organizations and associations, cultural and tourist services. Thanks to the support of the Flemish government, the ErfgoedApp will continue to grow ErfgoedApp coming years. The ErfgoedApp then integrate the storytelling function of the virtual museum FAAM, which aims to spark curiosity about history and heritage among a wide audience with accessible stories. We are looking for a versatile IT professional with technical expertise and a strong desire to apply and further develop that expertise in a cultural organization. Are you also interested in heritage? Then you are the ideal candidate.

Your role

You will develop and manage various FARO applications. You will be part of the communications team, which has already built up a wealth of expertise. In this team, you will work closely with the IT manager. In time, you will take over certain tasks from the IT manager. To this end, you will be given plenty of scope for professional development through training and self-study.

Your responsibilities consist of two parts:

General application management:

  • Together with the IT manager, you will be responsible for application management of the website (Drupal) and the customer management system (CiviCRM) of FARO, in collaboration with the external technical partner.
  • You support general IT management and FARO employees.

Application management of the ErfgoedApp:

  • Together with the IT manager, you will contribute to the further development of the ErfgoedApp, in collaboration with external partners. In the first year, a lot of attention will be paid to integrating FAAM's story function into the ErfgoedApp.
  • You will encourage the ErfdgoedAppcreator communityto develop graphic stories. To this end, you will develop and share technical knowledge about AR, XR, 3D content, audio description, and gamification, with a particular focus on accessibility. You will organize workshops and create tutorials.

Job description

  • You have a bachelor's degree in IT, information management, and/or multimedia, or equivalent through accumulated experience or acquired skills relevant to the position.
  • You have at least three years of demonstrable work experience in the field of application management.
  • You have experience with app and web development.
  • Preferably, you also have experience managing a mobile app.
  • Insight and/or experience withdigitalstorytellingtechniques is a plus.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and a basic knowledge of English.
  • You enjoy helping others and have a customer-focused mindset.
  • You are constantly learning and enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with others.
  • You work together with colleagues in a team, but you can also work well independently.

Offer

  • A full-time or part-time (80%) contract of indefinite duration.
  • A salary based on scale B1a of joint committee 329.01. Your relevant experience will be taken into account for up to 8 years (full-time gross monthly salary: max. €3,921).
  • Meal vouchers (worth €10), group insurance, free commuting by public transport, bicycle allowance, and 35 days of vacation for full-time employment.
  • You can work remotely and will receive a laptop from FARO, as well as a monthly flat-rate teleworking and internet allowance.
  • You will be given every opportunity to develop professionally, and we will provide you with a personal training budget for this purpose.
