Between the two world wars, Ronse grew to become the second-largest textile center in Flanders after Ghent. Nowhere else will you find such a rich concentration of heritage sites from this golden age. The city is dominated by factory buildings—both small and large—by working-class neighborhoods and alleyways, but also by spacious Art Deco houses and villas.

On this heritage walk, you’ll discover the history of the village of Woesten between 1914 and 1918. You’ll pass by both visible and faded traces of the village’s wartime past. The walk is an initiative of the Poperinge-Vleteren Intermunicipal Archives, in collaboration with the Vleteren Tourism Office and volunteers from “Westhoek.”

In collaboration with the Bodeghave Local History Society, the BKW Local History Society, and the non-profit organization Familiekunde, the municipality of Dilbeek developed a walking tour through the center of Sint-Martens-Bodegem.
