"The eldorado of the tute row". This is how the 2014 conservation decree describes the villagescape of Saint-Huibrechts-Lille.
The teut trade initially arose out of necessity. For many farming families, the poor Kempen sandy soil did not provide enough to live comfortably. Teuten, or itinerant merchants, tried to earn their living abroad.
