This walking tour focuses on very small things, on details in the history of Veurne. These facts are often surprising or funny, but sometimes they are less pleasant or even sad. The walk starts at the former Town Hall of Veurne. This is the corner building to the left of Visit Veurne. You will explore

Between the two world wars, Ronse grew to become the second largest textile center in Flanders after Ghent. Nowhere else will you find such a rich concentration of heritage relics from this period of prosperity. The city is dominated by small and large factory buildings, working-class neighborhoods, and small alleys, but also by spacious Art Deco houses and villas.

On this heritage walk, you will discover the history of the village of Woesten between 1914 and 1918. You will pass visible and faded traces of the war's past. The walk is an initiative of the Intermunicipal Archive Poperinge-Vleteren, in collaboration with the Vleteren Tourism Office and volunteers from 'Westhoek verbeeldt&'.
