In Deurne, you will find stumbling stones in the pavement at various locations. These are memorial plaques for victims of the Second World War. Jewish families in the neighborhood had little choice during the war years: obey the strict regulations, flee, go into hiding, or join the resistance. Of the approximately 500 Jews in Deurne, 260 people never returned.
