'The sound of cobblestones' - Concertgebouw Brugge

Commissioned by Concertgebouw Brugge, in collaboration with KAAP and ChampdAction, DUOBAAN XL created a walking tour through historic Bruges. Using short videos, audio clips, and text, the trio reveals a layer of the city that you would normally walk right past.

DUOBAAN XL
Since 2017, the trio DUOBAAN XL has been working on The sound of. In this project, visual artist Anneleen De Causmaecker, accordionist Barbara Ardenois, and writer Marieke De MarΓ© explore how the world works, how it grows, and how people live within it. They capture the memory of cities, set small stories behind everyday objects or signs to music, or give an absurd twist to reality.
