'The sound of cobblestones' - Concertgebouw Brugge

Commissioned by Concertgebouw Brugge, in collaboration with KAAP and ChampdAction, DUOBAAN XL created a walk in historic Bruges. Using films, audio fragments and text material, the trio reveals a layer of the city that you would normally pass by.

DUO LANE XL
Since 2017, the trio DUOBAAN XL has been working on The sound of. In it, visual artist Anneleen De Causmaecker, accordionist Barbara Ardenois and writer Marieke De MarΓ© search for how the world works, how it grows and how people live in it. They capture the memory of cities, sound out small stories behind everyday objects or signs, or give an absurd twist to reality.
