Antwerp Archaeology Route

Antwerp loves to showcase its history. Historic buildings still dominate the cityscape. Just think of the cathedral or the Steen. Over the years, other historic elements have become hidden beneath new buildings, roads, and squares. But hidden does not mean gone. The Antwerp underground still holds a wealth of traces from the past. When the opportunity arises, archaeologists get to work and uncover pieces of that past. Sometimes temporarily, sometimes permanently.
