Liksems: Walking tour 'Oostkerke Herschapen'
The picturesque village of Oostkerke near Diksmuide looks centuries old. However, during the “Oostkerke Herschapen” walking tour, we discover how and where this village found a new home after World War I. The Village Information Point is the starting point of the walk and vividly depicts life in Oostkerke in the past.
We take a stroll through the fields and conclude with a short loop along Grintweg through the now 100-year-old “new” village. During this lovely, two-kilometer-long walk, children will find age-appropriate activities at four pyramids along the route. The pyramids also contain information that will appeal to adults: photos and short texts explain what took place at each location during World War I. This app only provides the walking route, as all the information is available at each stop.
