AfricaMuseum - Temporary Exhibition: Unparalleled Art
The exhibition is art-historical. The large, central display cases showcase a significant collection of masks, statues, ivory carvings, and handicrafts. The objects come almost exclusively from the Congo and were created in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
The other display cases focus on specific themes, including the question of what is considered beautiful in Africa, African artworks from a European perspective, the identity of the artist, and stylistic analyses.
