Stumbling Stones Bruges
The Stumbling Stones are the brainchild of German artist Gunter Demnig. They are brass plaques, measuring 10x10 cm, affixed to a cobblestone, which are placed on the sidewalk in front of the last known and voluntarily chosen place of residence of a victim of Nazism.
Discover the personal stories behind the Bruges Stumbling Stones through audio clips, text, and images. You can create your own route along the Stumbling Stones or find the nearest Stumbling Stone using the map.
This Heritage Tour is part of an educational package but also stands on its own.
It was developed by Erfgoedcel Brugge in collaboration with the Stumbling Stones Working Group in Bruges and the storytelling collective De Op-Lichters.
