Heritage trail in Wuustwezel

Wuustwezel, a beautiful rural municipality, offers cyclists and hikers the chance to enjoy its natural beauty. Besides its natural splendor, Wuustwezel has a rich history, shown by the preserved heritage scattered throughout the municipality. The municipal government has paid great attention to the preservation of this heritage. Photographer Walter Liégeois and Jan De Meester of local history society Wesalia II have created an educational heritage route in cooperation with local schools, where cyclists and hikers discover 49 historic buildings and artifacts. The route, a long bicycle route with integrated hiking trails, starts in Wuustwezel center and goes through Gooreind and Loenhout. This heritage route hopes to teach both residents and visitors more about Wuustwezel's history and wishes all readers an enjoyable trip.
