Wuustwezel, a beautiful rural municipality, offers cyclists and hikers the chance to enjoy its natural beauty. In addition to its natural splendor, Wuustwezel has a rich history, as evidenced by the well-preserved heritage sites scattered throughout the municipality. The municipal government has devoted considerable attention to preserving this heritage. Photographer Walter LiΓ©geois and Jan De Meester of the Wesalia II local history society, in collaboration with local schools, have created an educational heritage route, allowing cyclists and hikers to discover 49 historic buildings and artifacts. The route, a long cycling route with integrated walking trails, starts in the center of Wuustwezel and passes through Gooreind and Loenhout. This heritage route aims to help both residents and visitors learn more about the history of Wuustwezel and wishes all readers a pleasant journey.
