Chapel route in Koksijde-Sint-Idesbald

This bike tour starts at the entrance to the Ten Duinen Abbey Museum. From here, we head toward Sint-Idesbald to explore the chapels of Koksijde and Sint-Idesbald. Along the way, you’ll learn more about the history of the chapels, the motivations of their builders, the customs and rituals associated with them, and the saints to whom they are dedicated. As you will see, the chapels come in various sizes and shapes, ranging from majestic structures to small niches with a statue. On our tour, we will visit only those chapels that are clearly visible from the public road, but we will also touch on a few chapels that no longer exist.
