In the footsteps of the lines

It is no coincidence that the Damme polder landscape has been recognized by Flanders as part of the Zwinstreek Landscape Park and by UNESCO as a unique geological site within the Scheldt Delta Geopark.

In this landscape, we can still find many traces of forts, lines of defense, and fortifications that we collectively refer to as the Dutch-Spanish Lines.
