Art route Assenede murals and poetry

This walk (5 km) will take you past 13 artistic facades and 13 poetry panels. In 2024, Assenede celebrated its 1300th anniversary. Under the heading '1300 years Assenede', a year-long celebration was held. This was accompanied by numerous fun activities and events. It was a year full of boundless passion!

Throughout the year, works of art appeared here and there in the Assenede streetscape. They were all part of the art project "13 Facades, 13 Artists. An additional poetry panel was also added to the already existing panels. This brought the counter to 13.
All these works of art and poetry panels were molded into a fun route.

The walk was named 'Along Artful Facades' and was launched at the start of the Literary Festival on Friday, 29.11.2024.
Each of the 26 works has an Asseneeds story attached to it.
