Assenede art route: murals and poetry

This 5-kilometer walk takes you past 13 artistically decorated facades and 13 poetry panels. In 2024, Assenede celebrated its 1,300th anniversary. Under the banner “1300 Years of Assenede,” celebrations lasted an entire year. This was accompanied by numerous fun activities and events. It was a year filled with boundless passion!

Throughout the year, works of art began to appear here and there in the streets of Assenede. They were all part of the art project “13 Facades, 13 Artists.” In addition, an extra poetry panel was added to the existing panels, bringing the total to 13.
All these works of art and poetry panels were incorporated into a fun walking route.

The walk was named 'Along Artistic Facades' and was launched at the start of the Literary Festival on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Each of the 26 works is accompanied by a story from Asseneed.
