On the morning of May 10, 1940, the residents of Tienen and its surrounding towns were brutally awakened from their sleep. The German army invades Belgium. German planes bomb the city and the Goetsenhoven airfield.

This audio walk takes you through various episodes of World War II in Tienen. The compelling narrative is interwoven with diary excerpts from Jan Wauters. In 1940, he was a barber, carillonneur, and city archivist.
