Geulle aan de Maas - Heritage walk
Welcome to Geulle aan de Maas
Join this tour to discover the unique heritage of the string of Meuse villages, in this case Geulle aan de Maas.
For centuries, the Meuse shaped the landscape here, and various civilizations settled on its fertile banks. This has resulted in numerous monuments, stories, and relics. As you walk the tour, you can tap the “Point of Interest” on the map on your phone, and the story associated with the monument will play. Be sure to turn on your audio to hear the story.
Afterward, be sure to explore the other villages in RivierPark Maasvallei.
This heritage walk was created in collaboration with Marco Mariotti (Ooit aan de Maas), Fred Erkenbosch of the Meerssen Local History Society, Harrie Peil and Leon Spee of the Geulle Local History Society, and Guus Peters (Historie Huis van de Maasvallei). Photos of the dome painting in St. Martin’s Church were taken by Léon Notten.
The stories were narrated by Jos Prop.
