Villa Ter Ide

Along the winding Leie River in East Flanders are countless small, fine museums and intriguing heritage sites. Villa ter Ide in Zulte is one such place. The house was built around 1925. It is now the home of painter Martin Wallaert, who displays his private collection of Latem artists, including the brothers Gust and Léon De Smet, Frits Van den Berghe, Albert Saverys, Constant Permeke, Emiel Claus, Hubert Malfait and Albert Claeys, among others. He introduces you to these iconic artists from the various Latem groups in the intimate and homely atmosphere of his studio and home. It is an ideal start to get to know their work better in peace and quiet, and afterwards to visit their museums or artists' homes.
