Villa Ter Ide

Villa Ter Ide

Along the winding Leie River in East Flanders lie countless small, charming museums and intriguing heritage sites. Villa ter Ide in Zulte is one such place. The house was built around 1925. It is now the home of painter Martin Wallaert, who displays his private collection of works by Latem artists, including the brothers Gust and Léon De Smet, Frits Van den Berghe, Albert Saverys, Constant Permeke, Emiel Claus, Hubert Malfait, and Albert Claeys. He introduces you to these iconic artists from the various Latem groups in the intimate and homely atmosphere of his studio and home. It’s an ideal starting point to get to know their work better in peace and quiet, and then visit their museums or artists’ homes.
