From moats to bats in Bastion VIII

Today, Bastion VIII is a provincial center for nature and environmental education. But it wasn't always so. The domain has a rich history.

The name Bastion VIII refers to its historical function as a means of defense around the city center. Bastion VIII is the eighth of the eleven bastions that were to be found around Dendermonde.

During this tour you walk through the domain from 1830 to the present. Come, let's go on the tour!
