Muscat Route: Stories from the Grape Region:

The summer months invite wonderful bike rides in the beautiful Grape Region. This can be done with fun stories along the way along interesting heritage. Michaël Van Droogenbroeck, himself a resident of the Druivenstreek, conducted fascinating conversations with inhabitants of the Druivenstreek that you can listen to via the ErfgoedApp.

Spicy slopes take you first to Terhulpen, where the Belgian variety Baidordruif arose in the provincial research center from a cross of the Muscat grape. Via the beautiful Lake of Genval and some grape growers, you end up in Overijse. Be sure to stop at the Dru!f Visitor Center, highly recommended as an introduction to the Grape Region. You end this route with unpaved lanes through the mighty Sonian Forest.
