Feel the Forest, Smell the Heath
“Feel the Forest, Smell the Heath” is a sensory walk that provides information about trees and the soil. It was developed specifically by and for people with visual impairments, so that they too (with a guide) can experience nature more deeply. This walk has been added to the ErfgoedApp people without visual impairments can also enjoy it. If people with visual impairments would like to try this walk, we recommend that they always go out with a guide.
Tips for using the app:
• If the map suddenly disappears while walking, check to see if the walk is still at the top of your screen. If so, you can reopen the map by tapping the map icon.
• You can quickly find the walk by ErfgoedApp the yellow scan icon in your ErfgoedApp and scanning the QR code at the bottom right of this page.
• Once the map is open, you’ll see a timeline at the bottom. This displays different maps over time. You can also change the map type at the top. If you tap one of these buttons while walking on the heath, the map won’t reload because there’s no internet connection. So if you want to try this out, it’s best to do so in a place with a connection.
• If the walk is too long for you, you can easily decide for yourself how to shorten it. You can still read any information about points you’ve skipped by clicking on the number for that location.
The texts will also be available as audio at a later stage.
We hope you enjoy it!
