Closed/Open Doors

Are you curious to learn more about the wide variety of beliefs and faiths found in Bruges? This walking tour offers you a glimpse behind doors that are often closed. There are nine stops along the way where you will meet Anglicans, Hindus, Muslims, Orthodox Christians, Protestants, Roman Catholics, Liberal Humanists, YOT Christians, and (Zen) Buddhists. You will spend some time in their spaces and watch videos in which a member of each organization will introduce themselves and tell you a bit about the origins, symbols, and rituals of their faiths.

Please note that the mosque and the Buddhist/Hindu sections of the walk are located outside the central Bruges walking route map but are still part of the route. Simply click on the indicated points to view them. Bruges does not have a synagogueβ€”the closest one is in Ostend, which is why it is not included in this route.

This route is an initiative of Erfgoedcel Brugge, Diversiteitsdienst Brugge, VormingPlus regio Brugge, S-Wan, YOT vzw, CCV, and ZOWE.
