Literary walk in Maarkedal
In Maarkedal, the beautiful Z+walk winds its way along quiet country roads, through fields, offering magnificent views and delightful spots in the Flemish Ardennes. The route features five benches, designed by professional designers and crafted by local artisans.
EVA (Flemish Ardennes Heritage) has selected three literary excerpts for each bench that have a strong connection to this region. These include poems that capture the landscape (Theunissen, De Bock...), excerpts from novels that take you back in time (Streuvels, Timmermans), or philosophical and historical reflections (Libbrecht, Vancaeneghem, Wattez).
This walking route consists of two loops, covering 7.5 and 4.5 km. At each bench, you can open a literary triptych via the FARO app.
