The Treasure of Beerlegem

You set off in Zwalm, and as you walk, you travel further and further back in time! What was it like in the past? What has changed? You can compare our world with that of the past using old photos and archaeological artifacts. Gradually, you go further back in time, and eventually you end up with the Merovingians, 1,500 years ago, and that’s how you also discover the Treasure of Beerlegem!

The walk starts at the church in Beerlegem, by the statue of the hunter with the dog.
We follow the walking trail markers. At each post, there is a narrative clip and sometimes a task.
You’ll find the first audio clip on the post at the crosswalk. After that, we follow the markers 83-82-81-94-83.
