Out and about with Saint Martin in Moerzeke
Although Saint Martin is still actively celebrated in our region, traditional elements are fading more into the background and the differences with St. Nicholas celebrations are getting smaller. Through 5 Saint Martin routes, we highlight the practices and places associated with Saint Martin in our region. These routes are part of the more than 5000 km long 'Via Sancti Martini', a Cultural Route recognized by Europe.
With this walking route of 7.5 km you will discover the Saint-Maarten heritage in beautiful Moerzeke. You can start anywhere along the route. The walking direction is indicated by a combination of the Sint-Martinus sticker and yellow arrows. Along part of the route you will see both yellow and green arrows. If you follow the green arrows, you walk/bike along Sint-Maarten heritage in Hamme, Dendermonde and Zele (see also: Walking with Sint-Maarten in Dendermonde, Hamme and Zele, 52 km)
