Archaeology Route Antwerp

Antwerp likes to flaunt its history. Historic buildings still define the cityscape. Just think of the cathedral or the Steen. Other historical elements have become hidden over the years under new buildings, roads and squares. But hidden has not disappeared. There is still a wealth of traces of the past in the Antwerp underground. When the opportunity presents itself, archaeologists set to work uncovering pieces of that past. Sometimes temporarily, sometimes permanently.

Follow this route and discover what Antwerp has to offer archaeologically.
