Schoonselhof famous

What do poet Herman de Coninck, Oscar winner Nicole Van Goethem and Mayor Lode Craeybeckx have in common? All three found their final resting place at the Schoonselhof. Not for nothing is this cemetery called the Antwerp Père Lachaise.

But the Schoonselhof is more than a cemetery. This is where 200 years of (Antwerp's) history comes back to life. La Esterella, Julien Schoenaerts, Peter Benoit, Nonkel Bob and many others take you on a journey through time and through Antwerp. Discover who made Antwerp or who was influenced by the city. This walk is your personal time machine.

This walk starts at the Schoonselhof main entrance, at the intersection of Sint-Bernardsesteenweg and Krijgsbaan. After the guardhouse at the entrance, immediately take the first avenue on the right. Walk up to the roundabout. In the middle of it is the grave monument of Peter Benoit.
