Window on Vleteren

During a 5.2 km walk, you will discover interactively what the village of Oostvleteren looked like during WWI. At various locations, viewing boxes show photos taken at exactly that spot more than 100 years ago: unique windows on the past. You are also served the accompanying stories. So you see elements from WWI in today's landscape and you can compare past and present with knowledge: inspiring and surprising!

The loop can be shortened to a wheelchair-friendly tour of 4 km.
