Stumbling stones in Deurne - South

Stumbling stones in Deurne - South

In Deurne, you can find trip-stones in the sidewalk in several places. They are commemorative plaques for victims of World War II. Jewish families in the neighborhood had little choice during the war years: obey the strict regulations, flee, go into hiding or resist. Of the approximately 500 Jews in Deurne, 260 never returned home. Discover the stories of persecution and exclusion, but also courage, resistance and hope.

The walk in Deurne-South consists of two parts. The second part starts from point 14 in the Jozef Verbovenlei 38.
In Deurne-Noord a different walk starts.

The walk starts from the citizens' initiative 'Struikelstenen in Deurne' in cooperation with the ErfgoedLab and with the voice of Geertje De Ceuleneer.
