Liksems: Walking tour Kaaskerke

Kaaskerke near Diksmuide is located near the Yser River. The landscape surrounding this former front village looks calm and peaceful today. But here wounds were inflicted, so deep that they completely reshaped the war landscape. Because of its location right next to the IJzer, the old village center was completely destroyed, and a new village was built 300 meters from the original Kaaskerke. During this breathtaking 5 km hike along the Stiltepad and the site of the Petroleum Tanks, children will also enjoy themselves. For them there are assignments along the way, which they can find on some pyramids that also contain extra background information.
