Enjoy Open Monument Day in good hands

On Sunday,September 13, 2026, it will once again be time forOpen Monument Day. On that day, hundreds of monuments in Flanders will open their doors to the general public. This year’s event is entirely dedicated to the theme“In Good Hands!” and pays tribute to the many people who protect, maintain, restore, and prepare our heritage for the future.

All day Sunday, you can take part in walks, guided tours, bike rides, and unique encounters that showcase the care, craftsmanship, and dedication that go into preserving these monuments. Discover how heritage is preserved for future generations and meet the architects, restorers, researchers, owners, volunteers, and heritage enthusiasts who dedicate themselves to this cause every day. As always, the activities are completely free.
